Good Travel Management are delighted to announce that sister company DAN Shipping has acquired 75% of the shares in Bay Shipping Limited based in Cardiff, as part of their long-term strategy to develop activities in key ports throughout the UK
Bay Shipping was established in 1992 and has earned itself an enviable reputation as a specialist shipping agent and dry cargo broker with over 100 years’ combined experience in the industry.
From its head office in Cardiff, Bay Shipping covers all of the South Wales and South West ports including Avonmouth, Barry, Cardiff, Newport, Pembroke, Portbury, Swansea and Sharpness. In addition, the company has over 35 years’ experience in chartering, specialising in the dry cargo market, and has built first-class relationships with a range of prominent ship owners and charterers around the world.
The business will continue to be run by Managing Director Mark Mullins, who also retains a 25% shareholding in Bay Shipping. The business aligns very closely with DAN Shipping and now gives an extremely strong foothold in the South West to allow for development in existing port agency activities, whilst opening up opportunities to further grow the chartering side of the business through an extended network of contacts with ship owners world-wide.
Group Managing Director Alan Platt commented on the recent acquisition, "We are very much looking forward to working with Mark, Kevin, Mark and Ben and are excited by the many opportunities this will undoubtedly bring to expand the range of services in Wales and the South West. This is a significant development for DAN Shipping and also the wider John Good Group as we become a truly national business"
Good Travel Management wish Dan Shipping and Chartering LTD continued success...
