The 2018 Conference Guide: Must-attend Events for Buyers and Managers of Business Travel

We’re lucky in the business travel industry to have so many events and conferences throughout the year to learn about managing business travel, meet suppliers and network with like-minded professionals. However, with so many events to choose from and time not always in abundance, it can be difficult to know which ones to invest your time in. To help you choose the conferences or events most relevant to you or your team members, here is our annual roundup of the 2018’s UK business travel events.

January 2018

Business Travel Awards: 22nd January, London

While this isn’t technically an educational event, it’s still great for networking and you’ll find the industry’s leading suppliers there waiting to find out if they’ve won an award.

ITM Risk Management Summit: 26th January, London

Learn about the five new recommended protocols launched by the GBTA to encourage best practice, understand the complexities of medical transportation and the challenges for vulnerable travellers in certain situations and locations. You will also be guided on how to approach mitigating risk tied to practical applications, communications plans, stakeholder mapping and traveller engagement.

 

February 2018

ITM Buyer Huddle: 5th February, Manchester

ITM Buyer Huddles are a great way to connect with peers responsible for managing corporate travel and meetings. Buyer members to come together to discuss the issues they’re experiencing and identify/share best practice in a confidential environment.

ITM Oil and Gas Buyer Huddle: 7th February, Aberdeen

The Business Travel Show: 21-22 February, London

The Business Travel Show is the biggest business travel event in Europe with over 260 suppliers, 175 experts and 7730 attendees, plus a comprehensive conference programme to make sure you’re up to date with the latest ideas and best practice.

March 2018

Spring Sparkle: 12th March, London

Spring Sparkle is an exclusive networking night for Personal and Executive Assistants who book travel and meetings as part of their role. Strictly limited to 100 places only (maximum five attendees per company), guests will a enjoy a French themed evening with complimentary drinks and canapes, complimentary mini beauty treatments as well the chance to win some fantastic prizes in the prize draw.

 

May 2018

ITM Conference: 2nd - 3rd May, Aviemore, Scotland 

The ITM Conference brings together business travel industry experts to inspire and educate and places a big emphasis on being a ‘doing’ conference. You can look forward to lots of round table activity, real-life case studies and the opportunity to learn from and share expertise with industry professionals.

September 2018

The Business Travel Conference: 11th-12th September, London

The Business Travel Conference is taking on a new format this year and will be at a new venue too. The Business Travel Conference is a smaller and more intimate event than the Business Travel Show with delegate numbers strictly limited to 200 buyers. It includes thought provoking opening and closing keynotes, case studies and workshops offering relevant sessions for both senior travel managers and those who are new to the business travel industry and meetings.

October 2018

ACTE Global Corporate Travel Summit: 14th -16th October, Paris

As well as New York, Hong-Kong and Brussels, ACTE will hold a global corporate travel conference in Paris in 2018. ACTE events are designed to bring together thought leaders, buyers and suppliers, and subject matter experts to discuss and solve issues facing the corporate travel industry.
