Complexities of Business Travel: #6 Will I need proof of a negative COVID-19 test to enter my destination?

The Covid-19 Pandemic continues to affect the travel plans for many of our corporate clients, some of these we continue to document within our series the complexities of Business Travel. Another complexity to come from the pandemic has been PCR testing. In this blog, we debunk the common myths.

Most destinations across the globe will require a negative PCR test result before entry is permitted. This should be in the form of a test undertaken at a registered clinic where a certificate will be provided. Some people may not be aware that an NHS covid test is not recognised as a valid proof of covid test taken - airline policy would usually be to deny boarding without the correct documentation. Guidance is changing constantly, as normal life resumes, some countries may accept a double vaccine certificate in place of a PCR Test, however, all countries will set their own rules so it is very important to check the restrictions each time you travel.

Throughout the booking process, the team at Good Travel Management will advise on any restrictions in place in response to covid in a bid to make travellers feel at ease when taking their trip. Many travellers have been on the road for many years but in the times of the covid pandemic, sometimes a little extra guidance is required and this is where your business travel consultant will make the difference.

Good Travel Management partnered with Diamond Air International to offer our clients access to a reliable, and fast, COVID-19 testing service which will help travellers to travel safely and reduce quarantine time when returning to England.

The partnership means Good Travel Management can provide a Home Test Kit through Diamond Air’s Safe Travel solution, meaning the traveller's sample will then be analysed by one of the governments approved “test to release” providers and a results certificate emailed to the traveller, in PDF format, to be used before onward travel. Diamond Air work with YourGeneHealthChronomics and Synlab all of which are approved government lab test providers and are all MHRA authorised, PHR approved and carry the CE mark for quality and safety. Partnering with multiple approved providers ensures that there is enough testing capacity when demand is at its peak.

Through Diamond Air International and Good Travel Management, a range of pre-travel testing options can be obtained by clients at reduced pricing, from the “Home Test” where results can be obtained 48 hours from the time the sample is collected, through to an in-clinic “express test” with a 4-12 hour turnaround time, meaning travellers can maximise safety and wellbeing, whilst continuing to operate their business travel activities.
