British Airways have launched a range of new sleep pods which can now be enjoyed by customers travelling through BA's Galleries First lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5. Seven pods are available in the space, which they have named the "Forty Winks" zone.
Business Travellers can enjoy the following:
• Settle into the pod, swing down the privacy screen and recline into a
'zero gravity position' which elevates the feet and reduces pressure on
the cardiac system.
• At the touch of a button, a guided relaxation session or a soundtrack
of specifically composed sleep music plays through internal Bose
speakers. Once the sleep session concludes, which lasts 20 minutes,
customers are offered a hot towel and a wake-up drink.
• Dettol hand sanitiser stations will be positioned in the nap lounges, and Dettol antibacterial wipes will be used to keep the pod surfaces clean after each use.
• No booking is required, and customers can simply show up on the day
with digital signage indicating when a pod becomes free.
There are plans underway for a further five pods to be installed in the Concorde Room and three to be placed within BA's lounge in New York JFK.
What do you think to the new pods? Will you be indulging in a quick nap in-between connections? Let us know in the box below we'd love to hear from you!
