Top things to do when visiting ProWein 2022 in Dusseldorf

ProWein is the world’s leading trade fair for wines and spirits and is the largest industry meeting for professionals from viticulture, production, trade, and gastronomy. If you’re exhibiting or attending, then its important to get some downtime and sample what Dusseldorf has to offer. As   the hospitality scene reopens we have the top things to do when visiting for 2022.

If you are exhibiting or attending the event, we all know that it can be a positive but tiring experience and some down time for networking and doing business in a social environment is vital. Depending on where you are staying, the Congress Centre is only a short distance from the heart of Dusseldorf and here we have recommended some places to visit in 2022.

1. Dining and Drinks Venues in Dusseldorf

Baan Thai Restaurant is in a great location, in vicinity to all the hotels on offer by our team at GT Events. This is the perfect setting for an authentic Thai meal.

Hausbrauerei Zum Schlussel brewery is the ideal setting with a relaxed atmosphere for socialising, networking, hosting business meetings (or even a brewery tour if you have time) and is a popular venue to sample typical German specialities and offers altbier fresh from the barrel.

The Irish Pub Bei Fatty, also known as Fatty's is a classic spot that offers stout and other ales on draft, giving the Irish experience we know and love but in the heart of Dusseldorf. Play a game of darts or watch the sports games as you unwind.

Im Goldenen Kessel is an old brewery which is a popular place for both drinking and dining, you can even sample the authentic German Schnitzel dish. The Kesselstübchen, Kettle lounge on the first floor, has armchairs where you can enjoy a view over the Düsseldorf Altstadt, Old Town, creating the perfect German experience.

The View Skylounge & Bar offers a 360-degree scenic view of Dusseldorf, creating the perfect atmosphere for guests to unwind, while enjoying a fun evening out and great food.

2. Japanese Restaurants

In Dusseldorf an array of incredible Japanese restaurants can be found which are a credit to the Japanese community who lives there. Not far from the main station you can find ‘Little Tokyo’, with authentic Japanese restaurants, including famous Ramen shops such as Takumi and Naniwa.

You can sample an array of Japanese cuisine, from Soba buck wheat noodles, Japanese-style bread, Matcha Lattes, Onigiri rice balls and sushi. You really will be spoilt for choice.

3. Old Town, The Altstadt

Dusseldorf’s old town, The Altstadt is also the perfect spot to stroll around and shop, visit a restaurant, one of the many popular bars or quaint breweries pouring the city’s traditional Altbier. The Rhine is also lined with relaxed cafes to sit and enjoy the town with over 800 years of history and architecture.

4. The World’s Longest Bar

More than 300 pubs and restaurants connect within half a square mile to create ‘the world’s longest bar’ within the old town, serving their morish altbier, which is an old recipe and regarded as the local brew.

Dusseldorf is not only the host of some fantastic and world-renowned exhibitions, but also a great place to network and entertain, bursting with history which can be seen around every corner.
